Checks to be carried out before and after each session

    Before start of session:
    
    Check for broken glass etc., around the exterior of the building.
   
    All members of staff are aware of the location of:
    
First Aid box (on top of kitchen cupboards)
    
Incident book (kitchen hung up on wall)
    
Emergency contact list (on display in office)
    
The risk assessments appliocable for the session (on this web page)
    
    Names of first aiders known?
     
    All leaders familiar with the evacuation procedure?
     
    Lighting in good order and room temperature is comfortable?
     
    Are all the emergency exits and walk ways clear?
     
    Are all doors for areas out of bounds to young people locked?
     
    Electrical appliances checked for loose wires, broken plugs etc.
     
    All youth club equipment is in good working order and any damaged or broken equipment/furniture been removed?
     
    Have toilets been checked for toilet paper, towels, soap etc?
     
    Fire extinguishers in place.
     
    All non-essential cleaning products locked away.
     
    Damage/faults/cleanliness/slip & trip hazards checked.
     
    All relevant emergency signs are in place and visible
     
    'Best Before' dates on tuck stock checked
     
    At end of session:
    
    Check building/facilities for signs of damage and report to management committe if necessary.
     
    Fire extinguishers in place.
     
    All equipment is tidied and stored away, reporting to management committee if any item is damage or has gone missing.
